In the early afternoon on a date in late May of 2015, Kyle Wilkerson told Brandon Gonzalez, “I hope people show up” as they set up their very first show in a DIY venue on Glendale Boulevard. Los Angeles based concert promoter Sid The Cat Presents began with a vision, a hope and hard work.
For as long as he could remember, Sid The Cat has wanted to throw his own concerts. Music is in Sid’s DNA, and a lifetime of going to shows has taught Sid that the most memorable ones always centered around the artist. So in January of 2015, Sid The Cat gathered his family around and asked for their help in booking live music guided by that ethos. Within weeks, Kyle Wilkerson and Brandon Gonzalez were planning the very first shows under the banner of Sid The Cat Presents. From those humble beginnings, Sid has gone on to work with some of the biggest artists in the world. But whether it’s for an audience of 100 or 1000, Sid believes in treating the artists well, and promoting shows with much love and attention. DIY is in our DNA, we are proud to have begun that way, and will never forget that.
Sid The Cat is honored to have hosted shows with Bright Eyes, Phoebe Bridgers, Big Thief, Jim James, Moses Sumney, Mac DeMarco, Ty Segall, M. Ward, Khruangbin, Shirley Manson of Garbage, Fiona Apple, Better Oblivion Community Center, Sylvan Esso, Jonathan Richman, Pino Palladino & Blake Mills, Glen Hansard, Pussy Riot (first US shows), Mandy Moore, The Drums, Mild High Club, Damien Jurado, Cate Le Bon, Cold War Kids, Gillian Welch, Osees, Shannon and The Clams, Surf Curse, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Jonathan Wilson, Spellling, Starcrawler, Azure Ray, Alex Cameron, Waxahatchee, Chelsea Wolfe, La Luz, Allah-Las, Cursive, Mikal Cronin, Snail Mail, MiWi La Lupa, Current Joys, Shonen Knife, Jessica Pratt, Black Midi, Hermanos Gutierrez, Lawrence Rothman, Vagabon, Tim Presley, Durand Jones & The Indications, Christian Lee Hutson, Nick Hakim, Shonen Knife, Molly Burch, DIIV, Z Berg and many more incredible artists.
